The problem is, if you run an MX then someone somewhere will consider _you_ the asshat. For example, I send all postmaster mail to /dev/null because I'm not going to dig through the literally thousands of undeliverable-spam-bounce messages I see _daily_ to find the message that someone accidentally sent to 'ferd' instead of 'fred'. That makes me a non-RFC compliant asshat. =20 But I also permit my systems to emit deliverable spam bounces on the off chance that it is useful to someone else -- that may be RFC compliant, but gets me considered an asshat by those who beat the "no backscatter" drum. =20 I agree. Mail used to be cool, fun, and interesting. Now it's just painful. =20 But all this is merely an interpersonal problem I have, and has nothing to do with the actual software, most which I consider to be remarkably hate-free, considering A) what it does and B) the state it used to be in. =20 --=20 /\oo/\ / /()\ \ David Mackintosh |=20 dave@xxxxxx.xxx | http://www.xdroop.com --9amGYk9869ThD9tj Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHKdH8cwUBd0wDJQQRAuT7AJ9y2hyIjeCPTDjUC2YPd4ItmuvfCACfYM9K en1dnXIDMChRLcSWeHosWPs= =+jGn -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --9amGYk9869ThD9tj--
